7 Days Trek Tour In Draa Valley And Desert Dunes From Marrakech

Arrival, You will be picked up from the airport and transferred to your Riad to freshen up. The rest of the afternoon / evening will be at your leisure, leaving you the option of exploring the exciting city of Marrakesh.

Dinner will not be included on the first day; you may ask the receptionist for restaurant recommendations, or enjoy a meal in the comfort of your Riad.

Transfer from Marrakech (leaving at 8am) over the Tizi-n-tichka mountain pass then down to the south face of the High Atlas into Ouarzazate for lunch. We’ll continue to Agdez from there, and then down the Draa valley passing by several Ksars (fortified villages), some inhabited and some abandoned in ruins. There will be a stop in Zagora, the gateway to the Sahara Desert; your cook will buy provisions here.

Our drive continues towards the Lalla Kebira Dunes (Marabout, St. Kebira), where your campsite is. You’ll be able to take a short walk around the oasis of Lalla Kebira’s small dunes before returning to your camp for the night. The day will have consisted of a total of 71/2 hours driving.

After breakfast, and taking up camp, the team will load the camels whilst you start the trek down the Draa valley in the direction of the Beni Ali oasis for lunch in the shade of the date palm trees. After lunch you will carry on to the wild Oasis of Foum beside the mountainous Jebel Bani, where you will camp overnight.5 hours walking.

After breakfast, you’ll trek down towards the Draa valley through date groves to your lunch site in the Nesrate Oasis. After lunch, we’ll take a lovely walk through Berber villages along the valley towards our campsite at Ksar Ait Isfoul. We’ll spend roughly 5 1/2 hours walking.

After breakfast, we’ll head off for the highlight of this trek, walking through the dunes of Tidiri. Lunch will be just before you reach the Dunes of Regabi, and a further two hours of walking will get you to the final campsite located on the the dunes of Erg Lihoudi. This trek will consist of 6 hours of walking.

We’ll have an early breakfast, the crew will load the car then you’ll start the long journey back to Marrakesh with some rest stops on the way to enjoy the views and have lunch/drinks. We’ll arrive in Marrakesh after an 8h (430km) drive. This day will consist of only 2 ours of walking.
